GB/T90.2-2002 Standard Fasteners Marking and Packaging
1. Compliance with Standards
The markings on fastener products must adhere to the national and industry standards for fasteners. It is important to distinguish the “Fastener Manufacturer Identification Mark” (or Fastener Dealer Identification Mark) from trademarks, as it pertains to standardization and product quality. The implementation of these markings should be coordinated and confirmed by national standardization organizations, ensuring they are publicly announced.
2. Product Cleanliness and Protection
Fastener products must be free of dirt and metal shavings. For products without metallic coatings, a rust preventive agent should be applied to avoid corrosion during transportation and storage. Under normal storage and transport conditions, it is essential to ensure that these products do not rust within six months from the date of manufacture.
3. Packaging for Transportation
Transportation packaging for fastener products is primarily designed to facilitate safe storage and transport. It must ensure the safety of the goods, ease of handling, and facilitate efficient inspections at transfer points.
4. Specifications for Packaging
The packaging for transportation should meet criteria of being scientific, robust, economical, and aesthetically pleasing. This is to ensure that during normal circulation processes, the packaging can withstand environmental impacts without damage, ensuring that the products reach their destination safely, intact, and promptly.
5. Compliance of Packaging Materials
All materials used for transportation packaging, including auxiliary materials and containers, must comply with relevant national standards. For materials and containers lacking established standards, they must be validated through testing to ensure they meet the requirements for circulation conditions.
6. Manufacturer’s Discretion in Packaging
The form and method of packaging for fastener products are determined by the manufacturer. This allows manufacturers the flexibility to select packaging that best suits their products and the intended distribution channels.
7. Marking and Labeling Requirements
The exterior of packaging such as boxes, bags, and cartons must bear clear and correct markings or labels. These markings should be durable and consistent with the internal contents. Generally, markings should be printed or stamped, although tags or stickers are also permissible. It is critical that the markings do not fade or fall off.
Marking Content
The content required on the markings includes:
- a. Name of the fastener manufacturer (or dealer);
- b. Full name or abbreviation of the fastener product;
- c. Marking as specified by the fastener product standards;
- d. Quantity or net weight of the fastener products;
- e. Date of manufacture or release;
- f. Product quality mark;
- g. Other relevant markings as required by applicable standards or transportation regulations, or as requested by manufacturers, sellers, and users.
