We currently have vacancies in the following areas:

MEDIA DESIGNER, MARKETING DEPARTMENT

This is a new Opportunity we are looking to fill, reporting to the Product and Marketing Director and to be based at our manufacturing site in Fraserburgh.

Main duties for this position include the design, development and maintenance of Screw Jack’ extensive range of marketing media. The successful candidate would also be responsible for event co-ordination, planning and implementation. Key Job Activities and responsibilities involve:-

1. Media Development

a) Working as part of the Marketing Team, developing literature (media) for the communication of Screw Jack company and product information. This includes:

  • Product Manuals (paper & electronic).
  • Product Catalogues (paper & electronic).
  • Web site content.
  • Press Releases (paper & electronic).
  • Exhibition displays.
  • Internal & external newsletters.
  • Internal & external emails.
  • Presentations (paper, slide & movie).
  • CD and DVD development.
  • Advertisements.

b) Organise application and product photos/graphics and movies.

2. Event Co-ordination & Planning

a) Plan and implement the following type of events where Screw Jack is to be presented (internally or externally). This will involve events solely for Screw Jack and the support of events for Screw Jack distributors / representatives.

  • Seminars / presentations.
  • Exhibitions

b) Maintain product demonstration units.
c) Conceptual design of new product displays for required events.
d) Develop product training material with assistance from product experts.

Successful Candidates would ideally have the following skills/experience:-

1) 1-3 years work experience in a graphics or technical illustration role.
2) An interest in mechanical products, ideally industrial is advantageous.
3) Excellent computer skills in:

  • Windows XP
  • Indesign
  • Photoshop
  • Acrobat
  • Microsoft Office Products

4) Personal skills: excellent communication skills and organisational skills, experience in customer / supplier contact.
5) Determined, self-motivated and a flexible approach towards working hours and travelling when necessary.
6) The following experience is desirable, but not essential:

  • Language skills other than English.
  • Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator.
  • Seemage, SolidWorks

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are seeking experienced and suitably qualified Mechanical Design Engineers to be based at our manufacturing site in Fraserburgh.

This role plays an important part in the design and development of customised Jack products which are then manufactured on site. The role involves specifying and designing products to a high degree of accuracy and detail to suit customer applications, close customer and workshop liaison to ensure that the customer receives the product which suits their needs.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities would include:-

  • Design new and/or customised products for special jack applications from customer specifications;
  • Assist/direct the Sales Team with the selection of the correct, commercially viable product for a given application / customer specification;
  • Create design documentation including 3D CAD models, BOM’s, Manuals, Project Technical Files, etc, complying with various legislative and company requirements;
  • Liaison with suppliers, Sales Team, Customers as required to facilitate the design and development of new technologies, ideas and commercially viable products;
  • Advise and assist with testing and evaluation of new/customised products and component parts, ensuring that these are commercially viable;
  • Provide a trouble shooting / problem solving service to all other internal company departments and customers

CAD TECHNICIANS

Working within the Engineering Department / Drawing Office, reporting directly to the Technical Director, the main roles and responsibilities include:-

  • Preparing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of components for purchase or manufacture.
  • Preparing layout drawings of new product designs for manufacture;
  • Preparing and maintaining Bills of Materials;
  • Being conversant with current good engineering practice for component manufacture;
  • Providing Technical information and / or assistance to other departments and customers
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate Drawing Office procedures;
  • Preparing Operation and Maintenance Manuals;
